Love at first sight

Do you believe in it.  I don’t.  Because it only applies if the couple stay together.  But at first sight you can feel attraction, lust, a pull (which comes from below the waist).  Sure you can try to say it is something more romantic.  But in the end how can you love somebody without knowing anything beyond how they look?
My grandma claims the moment she laid eyes on my grandpa it was love at first sight.  in her mind she said she told herself :  “That is the man I am going to marry.”  That is her story.  Then I found out something new.  My grandparents were married three months after they met.  3 fucking months!  Wow.  And they’ve been together almost 45 years.  Maybe there is something to the whole love at first sight.

Wait….. You were married in November and had my Aunt in May…..Six months later.  I’m no math genius but….

Okay Grandma…. We’ll call it love at first sight if it makes you feel better.

I found you over on pureblogger Jamie. My son just fell head over heels in love about a month ago and he's moved in with his boyfriend. This is his first serious relationship and I'm happy for him. I miss having him at home everyday, but I don't miss doing his laundry!!

Wow, that's awesome Anne! I would never have moved out if my mom did my laundry. That's what tipped the scales in C's direction, his ability to launder;)

Love is a more powerful force than a mum who does laundry.

What an great story. I really enjoyed reading it. My grandmother married my grandfather when she was 19, he was 20. They stayed together until he passed away at age 60 in 1964.

I always say, “Lust at first sight, love takes time”.

Sure, I thought my current boyfriend was insanely hot when I first met him and knew we would make a great couple, but I wasn't in love with him at that very moment.

I don't believe in love at first sight, I need to know the person before I'm able to fall in love :). That might have something to do with bad experiences about “love (or should I say lust :D) at first sight” stories I've tried to built into a relationships in my life before I met my current spouse.

i totally do believe in it. but at first vibe not sight. maybe the first sight of the third eye. because, although it may have not lasted forever, i definitely have had it. more about that later…..
what can i say, i completely believe in love, even if i have had a slew of failed attempts at relationships. i grew. i loved.

I don't believe in love at first sight, because I think love is something that develops over time.

You can have a crush on someone at first sight and may have a good vibe too, but that doesn't mean you're gonna have good relationship at all with that person or that the person feels the same way for you too. If you're lucky it can be accidentally the great love-story of your life…I never was that lucky 😀

  • Well I'll be… I guess good ol' Granny had the “hots' at first sight, but those things were unspoken of and frowned upon in those days.

So for world peace, let's call it LOVE. 🙂

LOL, true. In those days no one would admit to blind lust I guess;)

  • I completely believe in lust at first sight. And I believe you can fall out of love.
My parents have been married for nigh on 30years, married at the tender age of 19&21… I could't do it, but nowadays I think we are taught to strive for perfection, even though we don't know what it is.
Your Nana sounds like a diamond.
